Our Employee Spotlight winner this month has been part of the Accurate team for over six years. A dedicated supervisor and devoted mom, she believes in growing through challenges, leading by example, and finding joy in the little things. “We’ve made work a good place to be—no matter what else is going on.”

Any custodial worker knows they are more than "just" a janitor— and we agree!

At Accurate Building Maintenance, our team members are the backbone of our team and the heartbeat of our purpose: creating clean, healthy, safe communities. They take care of our customers, so we take care of them like family—the best kind! We are so grateful for all they do each day and love to see them grow and succeed.

Our monthly Janitorial Employee Spotlight series features one of our amazing team members, showcasing what it’s like to work in the cleaning industry at Accurate, where we #keepitfun.

This month, we're proud to spotlight Ailed Arreola, night shift supervisor at one of our longtime school customer sites in Las Vegas. With over six years at Accurate, Ailed has grown from a determined new hire into a trusted and confident leader. She now oversees a team known not only for their high-quality work, but also for their care, collaboration, and commitment to the school community they serve.

Ailed brings honesty, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose to everything she does. She’s passionate about teaching others, embracing change, and delivering results our customers can rely on. For her, success means aiming high—even when it’s tough—and always learning along the way. Whether she’s re-routing her crew to handle after-school events or enjoying screen-free time with her kids, Ailed leads with heart, grit, and a grounded perspective. Keep reading to see why her growth—and the example she sets—continues to inspire everyone around her!

WHAT AILED HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE JANITORIAL INDUSTRY AND WORKING AT ACCURATE

What's your "why" on being a cleaning industry professional? What brings you to work each day at this job, besides needing to earn a paycheck? There are a few reasons. One, I like to clean. Two, I was solely supporting my son when I was first looking for a job and needed one quickly. Accurate is a supportive employer and offers some flexibility. I also appreciate the opportunities I've had within the company to grow (supervisor role). I like working as part of this team, achieving goals together and delivering solutions. We want the client to be happy. I enjoy helping people, growing with them, and teaching them what I've learned that is helpful, and learning from them, too. Ron Finken* himself was one of the first people who trained me at this company, and I have a lot of respect for him; I want to deliver results for our customers. I also really appreciate Bonnie* as our Operations Lead and a fellow working mom.

Ailed working solo and pregnant with twins during the pandemic.

What is the toughest challenge you've had at work? Speaking English more often! I am bilingual—and, it's also easier for me to read English and understand it, than it is in speaking/conversation. That verbal part takes me a bit longer and requires more preparation sometimes. When I first started working at this company, that was one of the scariest things for me, because I worried that I wasn't doing well enough. But I have grown a lot in this area and gotten stronger in spite of the challenges.

Another challenge was when I was pregnant with my twins and worked independently. I was the only person at that work site on that shift. That was really tough! My girls will turn 4 years old later this month.

What makes you proud of being an Accurate team member? The leadership of the company notices how hard we work, and they always try to support us. They make it a point to recognize our efforts and make us feel valued.

Which of Accurate's core values is most important to you, and why? (We Keep Our Word, Respect, Opportunity, Solutions, and Keep It Fun) Keep It Fun is my favorite. Anywhere we are working, it's really a lot of fun. The team I work with is tight knit. We can tell when one of us hasn't had a good day, and we're always trying to make each other laugh, cheer up. We've made work a good place to be no matter what else is going on.

What is the most important work/career lesson you've learned so far?

You need to show up and be professional at work. Leave your personal "stuff/issues" behind at the door and do your job. I know many people who bring their personal problems to work, and that can cause a negative impact. That's one of the things I've had to learn how to balance with my team members as a supervisor here. Many of us are parents. We all have problems and challenges; we all have to work together as a team to focus and get the job done, and then be able to go home to our families and be present with them there.

Describe your fellow Accurate team members in 3 words.

  1. Hard workers

  2. Team players

  3. Support each other in everything

What would you do for work if you weren't doing this job? I'd be a teacher for little kids, like Pre-K or kindergarten. Or I'd serve in the militarythe Navy would be my first choice.

What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you at work? When I was pregnant, I got stuck in the elevator at work with Maria Socorro (past Spotlight winner). She was so worried about me because of how far along I was, but I was actually doing okay. It only lasted about half an hour.

What's your favorite thing about working at Accurate? The flexibility the company provides us. And the schedule works perfectly for me to have a good work-life balance, to have time with my family at home.

WHAT AILED SHARED ABOUT HERSELF

How do you define success? Perfectionwhich is aiming for excellence in everything you do. That takes hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.

If you were an animal, what would you be, and why? A lion. I like them because they are strong creatures.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

  1. Focus on your goals and don't get distracted.

  2. Always try to be learning something, no matter what situation you’re in.

  3. Listen to your parents when they tell you something isn't good for youbecause they’re always right, and they’re trying to help you.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Just be at home, watching a movie and hanging out with my kids.

Do you collect anything?

Purses and makeup. I have big purses right now because I have kids, but I really like the micro purse by Coach. I'm picky on the style.

What is your favorite line from a movie?

"Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things." It was in the movie Up.

Author's Note: Most sources agree that American writer Kurt Vonnegut is actually the originator of this phrase.

What is your greatest accomplishment? What are you most proud of in your life? I have always tried my best and worked really hard to provide and care for my son as a single mom.

You're happiest when _______ (fill in the blank). When I get to spend quality time with my family, with NO PHONES! Have something to eat, watch a movie, listen to my kids tell me about their day, or go somewhere together for an activity; just being together as a family.
